Made it throught the first day, hurrah!
Today, we can introduce some protein elements into our meals. But not much and not every meal. So breakfast is once again a melange of red peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and spring onions, nuked in the microwave for a couple of minutes. For me, this is not the sort of food I can eat first thing in the morning, particularly as I leave pretty early for work. I decided, therefore, to take my pot of prepared veggies with me and use the micowave in the office once I felt I could face them. I had a colleague once whose husband always had soup for his breakfast. Each to their own, but that wouldn’t work for me.
I do find I’m feeling hungry on this diet and although the vegetables are unlimited, I actually get to a point where I just don’t want any more. But that’s OK, I’m managing fine, just getting used to a bit of a rumbly tummy.
I have had a few headaches though. I don’t know whether this is down to stress at work (it’s pretty frantic at the moment), or caffeine withdrawal from not drinking my usual several cups of tea each day, or something else entirely. I think I may “cheat” a little and reintroduce the odd cup of tea – I don’t have milk or sugar or sweetener in it (just plain old English Breakfast tea for me) – so I can’t see that it would be that harmful. It’s certainly carbohydrate and calorie free so meets the brief from that point of view.
We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
